Then Sings My Soul - "Were You There?"

Holy Saturday is traditionally a time of reflection and of quiet meditation as we contemplate the darkness of a world without a future and without hope apart from God and His grace.

I get chills each time I hear this song. It starts a little slow, but be patient...tight harmonies and a fine tenor voice are well worth the wait when they "let it all out", in my opinion.

Sometimes it makes ME want to tremble....how about you?

Michele

That was the perfect song for Easter weekend. The words and voices were beautiful. I've listened to 7 music videos tonight and I love the variety in each one. They have really made my Easter season meaningful.

In the very little church that I went to as a child and teen at home...this song and "Then Sings My Soul" were always sung during Easter services. Easter has always been my more favored holiday...because of its meaning...and probably because of the soulful music.

Thanks Michele!!! A joyous Easter to you and yours! Hope you're feeling like yourself again. ;-)

You know I have never heard of God tube, but I just checked it out and it is so cool. Thanks for the song and the place you went to get it. If it wasn't for the logo I don't know how long it would of been until I discovered it.

I love this version by Selah. I have it on one their CD's and it always takes me back to earlier Easters when I was a girl. We sang this in church as a hymn.

Have you ever heard "Were You There" by the Imperials. That was the first time I had heard it sung in a soulful, jazz way. I loved it then too. Selah's version reminds me a lot of the Imperial's in this song.

Happy, Holy Easter Vaughans.

Tremble, tremble, tremble.....
